Podcast #4: Transferring Cognitive Expertise to Novices or, How To Learn From Old Guys And Not Get Shot In The Face

with 2 comments

The latest Random Podcast.  I focus on transferring expertise, especially cognitive expertise, from experts to novices.  How to identify an expert, how to be a good student, how to be a good instructor in transferring expertise, along with concrete recent examples of How To from Tier 1 Units.  How to remain relevant (or become relevant) as a combative skills instructor in the era of automating the learning of motor skills.

  1. Enjoy the podcasts. Have been a student of neuro-learning for many years and have incorporated many of the practical firearms training principles you have shared on your blog over the years. It sounds like sharing those practical tips is easier on the podcast than trying to write it up to be clearly understood on the blog. I look forward to each podcasts so keep them coming.

    • Thanks, Alan. Glad you find it of interest. I get more phone calls and e-mails about these than I do blog comments. Cheers, m
